The Coke-In

To build up interest for the Coke-In, we used a variety of tactics, including a series of letters to the editor, published in the Daily Collegian.

Our planted letters were sufficient well-written to sucker a response from a Penn State student.

For some reason, the Collegian didn't run one of the letters-to-the-editor we had drafted for our letters series. My brainstorming notes, and then our collective draft letter, with hand corrections, is a testament to our collective brilliance, I believe.

The corporate stooges at the Collegian for some reason deemed this letter "libelous." Fools.

They also neglected to run our final letter, designed to direct attention to the Coke-In itself. Perhaps they had realized by this point that they'd been punked.

But it didn't really matter, since we'd been busy getting ourselves promotion in other, more legitimate ways.
