This might
not make a lot of sense to those who don't follow Weight Watchers, but
the Weight Watchers point value of a food is determined by a computation
involving calories, fat and fiber content. It's a better program than
just counting calories, because it makes you pay attention to the quality
of the foods you're eating.
Just for
my own educational benefit, I took a sample day and figured out the calorie
values for what I'd been eating. I found out that, by sticking to the
normal allotment of points for my weight, I was taking in about 1700 calories
a day, which along with exercise, is why I'm now seeing success.
In other
wedding fashion related news, this past weekend my sister called attention
to my Teva tan on my feet: the white marks where my sandal straps go.
She suggested I could lessen it somewhat by wearing different shoes.
That is
true, but I wear the sandals so much before they're very comfortable for
dog walks, which is when I get most of my sun. I'm trying out other pairs
of shoes to see if I can lessen the tan lines. The wedge sandals I'm wearing
right now are a little unstable while my ankle is healing, so I think
I'll try wearing a pair of moccasins that exposes most of my foot. I might
also stop in Target to see if they have the same flats my sister found
there, which she says are very comfortable.
Although
the strap marks from my shirts are less pronounced, I'm wearing shirts
with straps that hit in different places, to minimize those tan lines
as well.
Hopefully,
whatever tan lines I still have by the wedding could be covered with makeup.
I have a
facial scheduled for next Saturday, and I'm trying to eat well and take
care of myself, including stress relieving activities like yoga. Really,
I ought to treat myself like this more often!
